From 1 January 2030,<\/strong> certain single-use packaging for cosmetic, hygiene and toiletry products in the accommodation sector may no longer be placed on the market if they are intended for a single booking and are to be disposed of before the arrival of the next guest.<\/p>\n

This does not mean, however, that shampoo, shower care products or soap will disappear from hotels. Rather, the packaging logic is changing. <\/p>\n

This includes, among other things, single-use packaging for cosmetic, hygiene and toiletry products in the accommodation sector that is intended for a single booking and is to be disposed of afterwards. <\/p>\n

The key distinction here is between the product and the packaging:<\/p>\n

The PPWR does not ban the cosmetic products themselves. It restricts certain types of single-use packaging and their use. <\/strong><\/p>\n

For hotels, this means that the small hotel miniatures that are still widely used today will need to be reassessed.<\/p>\n
